Looking out now upon this cold aquiline moon,
My time of departure is arriving too soon.
Rememb'ring the only eyes ever to see me,
Their light igniting this darkness which surrounds me.

Where there was blood on the hands of once vengeful fate
And the hunger of torment could I never sate,
A yellow flame dances, reflecting a renewal -
Temptation no longer claims endeavour its tool.

Believing myself bankrupt, having spent all resource,
Those melancholy leanings, my only recourse.
Your love and compassion, through their combination,
This endless night forced into elimination.

Through what lies beneath and all we face in between -
Situations and circumstances unforeseen -
This offer of indiscriminate devotion
Reigns supreme in the pantheon of emotion.
