This Heart Obsidian

Shivering beyond destiny's warm hand
On revolving globe, losing my balance.
Witnessing winds of words ravage our world;
To myths of truth man devotes his talents.

Ancient statuettes under western sun
Gleam visions from youth forgotten to age.
Dissolving, under harsh day's light evolved,
To mem'ry's ashes, divided in rage.

Mistakes of summer serve but to remind
Winter's night's crescent scything the sky, that
Beyond the horizon, we leave to chance
Pieces of pasts lost in mortal combat.

Take me back to that sacred place where a
Stranger's touch saved me from oblivion.
Let me relive that occasion when gold
Was divined from this heart obsidian.
