Uncollected Thoughts

free of all thought
practising non-attachment
looking upon the world
as if it were here
in the palm of my hand
in control of my destiny
i hold it up and admire
then hurl it into the void
free of all thought
do with me as you will

----------

when she speaks
i hear a melody
when the golden sun streaks
through the pane
drying her tears
i see the curve of the rainbow
in her smile
and when she closes those eyes
to sleep
i see that same sun
setting over avalon

----------

i am soul-searching
not for mine
for yours
for yours is the one i want to know

----------

today
no more words
no more talk
i am
i do
i love to be

----------

i have seen into the abyss
i have touched the infinite
nothing has changed within
only my perception of within

----------

sunrise
a second chance
redemption offered in his blazing
jaw
sunset
the vanishing dance
apologies proffered from my lips
once more

----------

he came down from the north
where the rain fell heavy and often
though the spirit never dampened
the light in the eyes never lost it's spark
the wind cut the air with a vicious precision
yet the flame of desire was never fanned
and, even when the sun shone too bright
for those tired eyes
they never lost sight of the goal
the new dawn they were searching for
the sacrifice
the endeavour
the faith and doubt and effort
a new dawn
he has seen it and i wish him well
